The Tripods is a series by John Christopher. It is about aliens from outer space called the Masters that try to take over the world with machines called Tripods. There are 4 books in the series: When the Tripods Came, The White Mountains, The City of Gold and Lead, and The Pool of Fire. The Tripods is a great science fiction series that I really enjoyed.
